Who are we?
Involving Communities is a small consultancy largely working independently; we work collaboratively with other professionals at times when different skills or more hands are required. We work with translators and interpreters, graphic designers, legal professionals, and recruit community representatives to support us when necessary and appropriate.
Ali Draper, the founder of Involving Communities, has over 25 years experience working with the public, private and third sector (community groups, charities and tenants groups). Over time she has developed the skills and experience required to tackle practically every task a community group, charity or tenant's association could face. Recognising the private sector often has different requirements, there is a dedicated website with a different focus. Follow this link, which will take you to a different website.
In addition to many courses focusing on specific groups in society - and different ways of engaging with them - Ali studied at the University of Keele, gaining a first class honours degree in Social Anthropology & Sociology and Applied Social Studies. This gives an academic insight into the culture of communities, their formation and cohesion – or otherwise. Continuing her professional development, she studied for the Certificate in Professional Fundraising, awarded by the Institute of Fundraising and Open University. More recently Ali has gained the MA in Voluntary and Public Sectors:Policy and Practice.
